About Sanford Housing Authority

Since 1961, The Sanford Housing Authority has made its goal to provide safe and sanitary housing for the low-income citizens of Sanford, North Carolina. In all, the Authority owns 443 public housing units in its communities across the area, plus manages another 441 Section 8 voucher program units. The Housing Authority is governed by a board of commissioners appointed by the Mayor of Sanford, yet it designates its own management. The daily operations and planning of the Housing Authority are overseen by an Executive Director, Mr. Ken Armstrong. Mission Statement

The Purpose of the Sanford Housing Authority is to provide decent, safe, sanitary, and affordable housing to all eligible persons, and to provide residents with the appropriate information to assist them in becoming self sufficient and first time homeowners. In addition, we will be responsive to the needs of all our residents by providing child care, security, counseling, money management, homemaking, personal care and recreational opportunities
